Who we are
The San Francisco Bay Area Shaolin Foundation is lead by Master Shi Guo Song, who has been authorized by the Shaolin Temple (Henan Province, China) to establish the only fully sanctioned monastery and school outside China in the US. The San Francisco Bay Area Shaolin Foundation was founded in 2004. Now Master Guo Song is setting up the first Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute in Canada.
While we encourage the teachings of Kung Fu and Qi Gong to strengthen and revitalize ones body, we also encourage the calming and contemplating of ones mind by seeking stillness achieved within movement. In fact, we do not encourage violence against others. And it is our ultimate goal to establish a Shaolin Cultural and Buddhist Centre, thus to preserve the 1,500-year-old tradition of Shaolin.
The Shaolin Temple Quanfa Institute currently provides Kung Fu (martial arts) and Qi Gong (soft forms) classes to students from all walks of life, age groups and religious makeup.
